Terms of Use

Last updated 24 September 2026

By using Keep Company you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Keep Company is run by Good Life, India, at Upper Ground Floor, UG-26, Radha Palace, Gurudwara Road, Gurugram, Haryana 122001. "We" and "us" mean Good Life; "the app" means Keep Company on any platform it is published on.

Our community guidelines say the same things as the "How to behave" section below, in everyday words and with what happens if a rule is broken. These terms are the binding version; the guidelines are the easy-to-read one, and we keep the two in step. How we handle your information is in the Privacy Policy.

Who can use Keep Company

You must be 18 or over. You may have one account, and it must be yours. You cannot use Keep Company if we have closed an account of yours before. For now, Keep Company is offered only in India.

Your account

You sign in with your email address, or with Google or Apple. There is no password: signing in with email sends a one-time code to your inbox, so keep your email account secure. Whoever can read the code can reach your account.

You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has got into it, write to care@keepcompany.in and we will help.

How Keep Company works

Keep Company pairs you with someone near you who shares your interests, and opens a chat between you. Each new chat has 48 hours. Once the two of you have exchanged 40 messages, with at least 10 from each of you, each of you can choose to keep the chat. If you both keep it, the clock stops, the chat stays, and you can see each other's full profile. Photos sent before then are shown blurred until you have both kept the chat.

You have one live chat at a time. Chats you have both kept stay in your chat list, so you can have many kept chats but only one that is still on the clock.

If the 48 hours run out and the chat has not been kept by both of you, it closes and is deleted. Either of you can also leave a kept chat at any time. The other person is not told; the chat disappears from both chat lists and is deleted too, and the two of you are not paired again. We cannot bring back a chat that has closed, so do not rely on a chat to store anything you need.

Pairing needs your location. If you do not share it, you can still use your account, but you will not be paired with anyone until you do. Pro and Elite members can choose a city to be paired from instead.

We may change how these parts of the app work, for example the number of messages or the length of the clock. The app always shows the rules that apply to a chat.

What you post

You own your photos, voice notes and the words you write. You give us permission to store them and show them inside the app so that it can work: for example, delivering a message to the person you sent it to, or showing your photos to someone who has kept a chat with you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

Only upload photos you have the right to use, and only photos of you.

Photos and messages are checked automatically

Every photo is checked before anyone else can see it. A photo may be held back for a person to look at, or removed. A clearly explicit photo closes the account without warning. Messages are checked by a filter too. When it catches one, the sender is warned, and the message is still delivered with a warning mark beside it while our team reviews it. You can ask a person to review any automatic decision by writing to care@keepcompany.in at any time.

How to behave

Keep Company is for friendship. Do not use it to:

If you break these rules we may remove what you posted, warn you, or close your account. For serious breaches we close the account without warning.

The selfie check

The selfie check is optional. The verified mark on a profile means that person passed a live selfie check and was recognised in their own photos when the check ran. It is not an identity check, a background check or a promise about anyone, and you should not rely on it as one. It is given and removed automatically, and our team can also remove it. It cannot be bought, and no paid tier includes it.

Meeting people

Keep Company introduces people; it does not vet them. We do not run background, criminal record or identity document checks. Photo checks, the message filter and the selfie check lower the risk; they do not make anyone safe to meet. If you meet someone in person, meet somewhere public, tell a friend where you are going, and get there and back on your own. You are responsible for your own safety. Our safety page has more.

Paid tiers

Keep Company is free to use. The paid tiers, Pro and Elite, are optional. Among other things, they let you choose a city to be paired from, instead of where your phone is. The price of each tier, how long it lasts and what it includes are shown in the app before you pay, and those are the terms that apply to your purchase. Anything said about a tier on this website or elsewhere is a summary, not an offer: where it disagrees with the app, the app is right.

Prices, how long a tier lasts and what it includes may change. A change never alters what you have already bought; it applies from your next renewal, and the store tells you before it does.

Payment is taken by Google Play on Android and by the App Store on iPhone. We never receive your card, UPI or bank details, and we keep no payment method on file. Pro and Elite renew automatically at the end of each period, on both stores, until you cancel them.

A tier belongs to your account and cannot be passed to anyone else.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancelling

Cancel at any time in Google Play or the App Store, under your subscriptions. Your tier stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and then simply stops; nothing more is charged. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Deleting your account ends your tier straight away and does not refund the rest of the period, so cancel in the store first.

Refunds

A refund for a purchase made through a store is decided by that store, under its own policy, and the money goes back the way it came. On Android, ask for one from your Google Play order history; on iPhone, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot move money ourselves, so asking us for a store refund only sends you back to the store.

What we put right ourselves

If you were charged and the tier did not arrive, or you were charged twice for the same period, write to care@keepcompany.in with the order number from the store's receipt. We will give you the tier, or arrange the refund with the store, within five working days.

When no refund is due

Keeping the app running

We may change, pause or stop any part of Keep Company. We work hard not to lose your data, but we cannot promise the app will always be available or free of mistakes, and it is provided as it is. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Indian consumer law.

Ending things

You can stop using Keep Company and delete your account whenever you like, from inside the app. See Delete your account.

We may close an account that breaks these terms. When we do, its email address may be blocked from making a new account, and that block is kept separately from the account, so deleting the account does not lift it. If you think we got it wrong, see how appeals work.

Complaints and grievances

If something we did was wrong, write to care@keepcompany.in with "Grievance" in the subject line. It goes to our Grievance Officer, Gaurav Grover. We acknowledge a grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days. More on our contact page.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will update the "Last updated" line at the top and tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
